Just had to update the title of this blog...

The Fair!!!! Our State Fair is a grand state Fair.....

Well maybe not that grand. In fact I may never go again.... unless the kid or kids beg me... But fun food.... Fun Company.....

It's the Great Pumpkin, John Robert

Jack left his trick-or-treating loot on the front step for the Great Pumpkin. When he went out to check, the candy was gone, but GP had left a box of LEGO® DUPLO® Toys!

4 months in 40 seconds

OK, so let's see... What has Jack done over the last four months?

He moved out of his old house...

...and into a new house.


He got a tricycle...

...and it blew his mind!

He danced...

...and made silly faces.

He played with his cousin, Elizabeth...

...worked on his white-goateed villain look...

...and trick-or-treated as a monkey!

At each house while we were trick-or-treating, I would remind him, "Say 'trick or treat' when they open the door." He would always reply, "No. Treat." He cracks me up.

Happy 4th of July!

A wedding in Wisconsin

In June, our friends Steven and Liz were getting married, so we flew to Madison.


Jack was a dapper gent at the wedding.

Later, we went to Ella's Deli. The ice cream was delicious,


...but the merry-go-round was the real treat.

Big Boy Bed?? Maybe!?!

 Well, we can not believe it but as we speak John Robert is SLEEPING on a regular mattress (next to his crib mind you).  We decided to give it a go as I can not lift him as of yet and thought that this might be a good option.   We will keep you posted!  Here is a picture of him as we prepared his mattress and his bed for the night.   Keep your fingers crossed.  I would like to point out the pile o blankets around him.   We thought it might work better if we had all the stuff from his crib surround him.   His little smirk is because this shot is 1 of 15 and Jack was not sure why we were making such a big deal out of it.   

Charleston Children's Museum and Grandpa OHHH BOY part 2!

Again What fun!!! Besides the Water room they had a shrimp boat and a grocery store that was my size  and a castle where I dressed up like a knight.    I think Grandpa's favorite room was the room with all the golf balls that helped us learn about gravity and planes.    We had a great time.

This past weekend we were lucky enough to have Grandpa Link in and go to the Children's Museum.   (Though John Robert has been, Hans and Megan have not)   This place is soooo cool.  John Robert loved the water room the most I think  what do you think???

Climbing Mt. Daddy

As we sat in bed (since Megan is on bed rest for her herniated disks), John Robert thought it was fun to climb up my chest, stand on my shoulders, and sit on my head. Megan had to grab the camera.

Leo Van Scyoc
